Initial Contact
Step 1
Clinical Consultation

In-person or virtual clinical evaluation to assess hernia anatomy, medical background, and patient-specific surgical indications.

  • Comprehensive physical examination and symptom analysis
  • Detailed discussion of procedural options (Robotic vs. eTEP)
  • Personalized operative timeline and goal setting
Standard ProtocolStep 01/06

Step 2
Reports & Imaging Review

Detailed cross-sectional imaging and aponeurotic defect mapping performed directly by the surgical team.

  • High-resolution CT and ultrasound review
  • Aponeurotic tissue and defect boundary measurement
  • Surgical plan validation and mesh plane selection

  • Tissue-preserving retrorectus or preperitoneal repair
  • Multi-modal opioid-sparing analgesia protocol
  • Dedicated surgical team and intra-operative monitoring

Clinical guidance & protocol

What to expect: recovery and aftercare

Clear clinical milestones for your hospital stay, pain control, activity limits, and post-surgical consultations across our Apex and Delta hospital bases.

Most robotic and minimally invasive eTEP hernia repairs are conducted with a 24-hour observation period. Patients typically walk comfortably within 4 to 6 hours after anesthesia clears. Discharge takes place once normal oral intake resumes, independent mobility is confirmed, and pain is adequately controlled with mild oral medication.
