Dr. Nitin Rimmalapudi
MS, FARIS, FALS (Hernia & Bariatric)
Dedicated surgical focus on the abdominal wall.
Hernia India is led by one of only 14 surgeons in India with a dedicated Centre of Excellence designation in hernia repair. The practice is centered on anatomical restoration of the abdominal wall rather than simple gap closure.
Following comprehensive surgical residency training, fellowship specializations in enhanced-view totally extraperitoneal (eTEP) repair and robotic surgical reconstruction established a high-volume clinical pathway. With over 1,200 eTEP repairs and 100 robotic reconstructions conducted annually across Apex Hospitals and Delta Hospitals in Rajahmundry, procedures are guided by standardized safety markers and clinical follow-up protocols.
Ongoing academic contributions focus on tension-free defect closure, minimizing recurrence rates in complex incisional hernias, and standardizing day-care recovery pathways for regional and international patients.
